According to the Constitution, Congress has the power “to lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts, and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defense and general Welfare of the United States.”

‘Dakotans for Honesty in Politics’ advocate tax reform that encourages prosperity. Government must be fiscally responsible and allowed only enough money to provide necessary functions.

We favor a tax system that strengthens a family’s by allowing them to retain their own money rather than be forced into requesting assistance from the government.

‘Dakotans for Honesty in Politics’ supports the elimination of the marriage penalty tax.
